2026 is the Year for Change

Tarrance Jones is a lifelong public servant with a deep commitment to protecting and strengthening her community. A proud Grand Prairie native and graduate of Grand Prairie High School, Tarrance has dedicated more than three decades to careers rooted in service, safety, and advocacy.
Her journey began in Dallas County, where she served as a Detention Officer with the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department before becoming a District Parole Officer with the State Board of Pardons and Parole. In 1992, Tarrance joined the U.S. Department of Justice as a Special Agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosiv
Her journey began in Dallas County, where she served as a Detention Officer with the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department before becoming a District Parole Officer with the State Board of Pardons and Parole. In 1992, Tarrance joined the U.S. Department of Justice as a Special Agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). Over the course of 22 years, she worked to arrest dangerous felony suspects, reduce gun violence, and participate in undercover operations. Her leadership and expertise led to her promotion to Supervisory Special Agent Criminal Investigator, where she helped guide complex investigations and mentor fellow agents.
Education has always been a cornerstone of Tarrance’s life. After graduating from Grand Prairie High School, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and later a Master of Science in Social Work — blending law enforcement experience with a deep understanding of people, families, and communities. She continues to expand her knowl

She continues to expand her knowledge through ongoing law enforcement training and is certified in Crisis Intervention and Mental Health First Response.
Beyond her professional career, Tarrance is deeply involved in civic and community organizations. She is an active member of the National Parent Teachers Association (PTA), serves on the Grand Prairie Animal Services Advisory Committee, and is affiliated with numerous service and leadership groups including the NAACP, National Organizatio

She is an active member of the National Parent Teachers Association (PTA), serves on the Grand Prairie Animal Services Advisory Committee, and is affiliated with numerous service and leadership groups including the NAACP, National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE), Grand Prairie Rotary Club, Soroptimist International of Grand Prairie, and the American Red Cross. She is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and Top Ladies of Distinction.
